Three flights in the not so gentle hands of Kenya airways (The pride of Africa) and a five hour stop over in Nairobi’s Joseph Kenyatta airport numbs the traveling mind somewhat. Stepping off the elderly airbus onto the sticky Lilongwe Tarmac to be be met by VIP protocol with a personally named board and a large black Mercedes, does sharpen the senses somewhat.
Alighting in the presidential suite, and after a short conversation with an MP, baggage was dutifully fetched and loaded into the awaiting transport. Airport transfers will never be the same.
